Ola! You’ve probably observed that some people tend to lose weight more easily, while for others, their weight is an ongoing battle. Some may wonder why some people are plagued by chronic illness while others stay healthy even as years pass. Very simple, the answer is in your blood type.
Research indicates that your blood type is a key genetic factor that influences many areas of your health level and well-being. Individuals of certain blood types may be at a higher risk for certain diseases; example:
– People with blood type O have a lower risk for heart disease, but a higher risk for developing stomach ulcers.
– People who are blood type A have higher risks of microbial infections, but Type A women experience a higher rate of fertility.
– People with type AB and B blood have a much higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer.
Different blood types also react differently to stress! These blood type antigens are not just in your blood, it also include in your digestive tract, as well as in your nasal passage and lungs. Hence they influence how your body reacts to the food intake through several factors.
Here are some findings and tips for a correct diet that may help you.
Type A Blood
Type A’s flourish on a vegetarian diet – if you are accustomed to eating meat, you will lose weight and have more energy once you eliminate the toxic foods from your diet. Many people find it difficult to move away from the typical meat and potato to soy proteins, grains and vegetables. But it is particularly important for sensitive Type A’s to eat pure, fresh and organic food.
Exercise : Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi and Meditation and Deep Breathing Exercises.
Type B Blood
For Type B’s the biggest factors in weight gain are corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts and sesame seeds. Each of these food affect the efficiency of your metabolic process resulting in fatigue, fluid retention, and hypoglycemia (a severe drop in blood sugar after eating a meal). When you eliminate these food and begin eating a diet that is right for your blood type, your blood sugar levels should remain normal after meals. Another very common food that Type B’s should avoid is chicken. Although chicken is a lean meat, the issue is the power of an agglutinating lectin attacking your bloodstream and the potential for it to lead to strokes and immune disorders. You can replace chicken with highly beneficial food such as lamb and mutton. Other food that encourage weight loss are green vegetables, eggs and low fat dairy products. When the toxic food are avoided and replaced with beneficial choices, Blood Type B’s can be very successful in controlling their weight.
Exercise: choose physical exercise that challenges your mind as well as your body include tennis, martial arts, cycling, hiking and golf.
Type O Blood
Type O blood faces a tendency towards a higher level of stomach acid. This blood type also has a very well-developed ability to digest meals that contain both protein and fat. This is because two chemicals used by the digestive tract, an enzyme called intestinal alkaline phosphatase and a lipoprotein called ApoB48 are secreted into the digestive tract in much higher amounts by type O’s. These digestive factors greatly enhance the ability of type O to not only metabolize the cholesterol in animal products more efficiently, but also greatly increase their ability to heal their digestive tract and better assimilate calcium. However, these very same strengths come at a cost: in Type O simple carbohydrates especially from grains are more easily converted into fats and triglycerides. Many grains also contain reactive proteins called lectins that can ramp up the type O immune system resulting in unwanted inflammation and auto-immunity.
Exercise: engage in regular physical activity three to four times per week. For best results, engage in cardio activity for thirty to forty five minutes at least four times per week. If you are easily bored, choose two or three different exercises and vary your routine.
Type AB Blood
Type AB has Type A’s low stomach acid, however, they also have Type B’s adaptation to meats. Therefore, you lack enough stomach acid to metabolize them efficiently and the meat you eat tend to get stored as fat. Eat smaller, more frequent meals, as they will counteract digestive problems caused by inadequate stomach acid and peptic enzymes. Because type AB has both the A and the B blood type antigens, food that contain chemicals called lectins are more likely to react with the tissues and cells of type AB than any of the other blood types. Type AB should avoid caffeine and alcohol especially when you’re in stressful situations. Type AB should focus on food such as tofu, seafood, dairy products and green vegetables if you are trying to lose weight. There is a wide variety of seafood for Type AB and it is an excellent source of protein for Type AB. A few highly beneficial fish are mahi-mahi, red snapper, salmon, sardines, and tuna. Some dairy products are also beneficial for Type AB – especially cultured dairy such as Yogurt and kefir.
Exercise: a combination of both calming activities and more intense physical exercise routine to help maintain an optimal balance. For example, three days of cardio exercise such as running or biking and two days of calming exercise such as yoga or tai chi.
